Visualizing the Theory

The electron as a three-layer topological vortex. Three nested length scales — the classical electron radius rₑ, the Compton wavelength λ_C, and the Bohr radius a₀ — are each separated by exactly α = 1/137. The core filament circulates at c; the orbital boundary is the 137-sub-cycle influence shell.

The proton as a three-quark Hopf braid. Three GM flux filaments are wound into a toroidal knot at the confinement scale (~1 fm). The braid crossing number of this knot determines the charge radius rₚ = 4λ_C(p), from which the proton-to-electron mass ratio mₚ/mₑ = 1836.15 follows to 0.003%.

The positron as a Q_H = −1 Hopf soliton — the topological mirror of the electron. Same three-layer scale hierarchy, opposite circulation handedness. Pair annihilation corresponds to the mutual cancellation of Q_H = +1 and Q_H = −1 winding numbers, releasing the EM energy stored in both vortex cores.

The neutrino as a neutral GM vortex ring with near-zero EM coupling. Its vanishingly small EM cross-section corresponds to propagation almost entirely through the GM layer. Mass arises from GM-EM coupling at the vortex boundary — explaining the hierarchy mν ≪ mₑ without a separate seesaw mechanism.

The antineutrino as the opposite-handedness GM vortex. The helicity distinction between neutrino and antineutrino is a topological consequence of opposite vortex circulation direction, not an independent quantum number assignment.

An atom as a toroidal engine in the EM medium. The atom draws EM fluid from the equatorial plane, processes it through 137 internal sub-cycles, and expels it along the magnetic axis. The electron cloud is the surface of this toroidal vortex. Every orbital shell is a distinct pressure-standing-wave harmonic of the same underlying medium.

Helium's two electrons as a Hopf-linked vortex pair. The exchange integral K that produces the bonding energy is identified as the Hopf-link coupling energy between two toroidal rings of opposite spin — the same topology that enforces Pauli exclusion. IWT energy: −78.71 eV vs experimental −79.01 eV (0.39% error, better than Hartree-Fock).

The fundamental topological object of IWT. Two linked circles in 3D space that cannot be separated without cutting. The Q_H = 1 Hopf fibration — a mapping from S³ to S² — is the mathematical structure underlying the electron's spin-½ topology and the factor of 2 in the g-factor.

The mechanism of chemical bonding in IWT. Two electron vortex rings link their Hopf flux tubes at the bond midpoint. The exchange integral K is the energy stored in this linking — the Hopf-link coupling. Bond order equals the number of Hopf links. This is the IWT physical interpretation of the exchange interaction Pauli exclusion enforces.

Entangled particles sharing a GM standing wave mode. When two particles interact, the GM layer establishes a shared boundary condition propagating at v_GM > 323,000c. Measuring one particle collapses the shared mode; the other particle's state follows from the mode structure established at the moment of entanglement, not from a faster-than-light signal.

The GM medium (propagating at v_GM ≫ c) maintains a background of isotropic flux. Mass atoms shadow one another through Beer-Lambert attenuation, producing EM density gradients that manifest as gravitational curvature at EM wavelengths. The coherence domain is the region over which a single GM standing wave pattern is established.

The three length scales of the electron — rₑ = 2.82 fm, λ_C = 386 fm, a₀ = 52,918 fm — on a logarithmic axis. Each step is a factor of 1/α = 137. The fine structure constant is not a dimensionless number; it is the gear ratio between consecutive layers of the electron's physical structure.

A Josephson junction in the IWT framework: two superconducting condensates separated by a thin barrier. The Cooper pair condensate is a macroscopic coherent EM state. Tunneling corresponds to EM vortex pairs passing through the barrier region where EM density falls below the Landau critical threshold.

The EM vacuum in its ground state: a dilute condensate occupying 3.002% of available volume (the EM packing fraction f, derived from the fixed-point equation of Paper 7). This condensate is the physical substrate of the Higgs mechanism in IWT — mass arises from vortex ring self-energy in a medium with this specific packing fraction.

α = 1/137 visualised as a pressure ratio: the EM condensate drag force on the electron's orbital vortex (40.4% of Coulomb, independently verified numerically) versus the Coulomb restoring force, with the Landau critical-velocity stability condition as the third constraint. Proposed test of IWT's prediction that G varies with altitude. Four HUST-type torsion balances (12 ppm precision) deployed at four elevations spanning ~4 km. IWT predicts a > 100 ppm shift in the measured G value between elevations due to the change in local GM density. Current G measurement spread of 550 ppm across laboratories is consistent with this prediction.

Proposed direct test of the GM shadow model of gravity. A dense shielding mass is interposed between a source mass and a detector mass. In Newtonian gravity, shielding is impossible. In IWT, any mass with sufficient column density reduces the GM flux reaching the detector, producing a measurable force reduction proportional to e^(−nσ_GM·L). Estimated sensitivity requirement: ~10⁻¹⁵ N precision.

A torsion balance variant of the shadow gravity experiment, optimized for the required sensitivity. The torsion fiber provides force sensitivity at the 10⁻¹⁵ N level. The shielding mass rotates to modulate the GM shadow at a known frequency, enabling lock-in detection against thermal and seismic noise.

Proposed test of IWT's rope-wave model of photon propagation. A photon traveling through a medium of variable EM density should arrive with a phase shift proportional to the integrated EM density along the path — not just the optical path length. This differs from standard refraction by the presence of a density-gradient term absent in Maxwell's equations with constant ε.

A macroscopic analog of the IWT elementary medium: a water surface driven at the orbital frequency analog, with floating particles representing atoms. The standing-wave patterns that emerge under 137-step discrete driving reproduce the electron orbital density shapes of hydrogen. The 137 sub-cycle structure is the physical reason these particular orbital geometries are stable.

A compass needle aligns with the local EM toroidal flow of the Earth's magnetic field. In IWT, all magnetic fields are toroidal vortex structures in the EM medium — large-scale analogs of the electron's core toroidal circulation. The compass is the simplest macroscopic demonstration of EM medium flow.

A proposed asymmetric Casimir cavity designed to extract net work from ZPF pressure fluctuations. In IWT, the ZPF is not virtual — it is the real thermal fluctuation of the EM condensate. An asymmetric geometry with quantum dot rectifier arrays preferentially allows ZPF pressure from one direction, producing a net DC force.

A proposed propulsion concept exploiting IWT's prediction that the EM medium is a real compressible fluid. A toroidal vortex generator induces an EM medium pressure asymmetry, producing a net force without mass ejection. The mechanism is analogous to a jet engine operating in a fluid medium — the medium here being the elementary medium itself.

A proposed computational architecture operating at sub-Compton frequencies (> 10²⁰ Hz) by exploiting the GM layer's faster-than-c propagation. State transitions encoded in EM phase rather than voltage level, with GM-mediated synchronization between nodes. Theoretical clock rate: v_GM / λ_C ≈ 10²⁶ operations per second.

A proposed device using acoustic resonance in a spherical shell to create a region of locally reduced EM density at the center. IWT predicts that sufficiently low EM density produces anomalous effects on local c and atomic clock rates — a tabletop test of the EM density–time-rate relationship.

A toroidal superconducting coil configuration proposed to trap a stable GM flux vortex inside the superconducting volume. The Halbach configuration cancels the external magnetic field on one side while concentrating it on the other — the same geometry IWT proposes for EM density manipulation, where the concentrated field region has measurably different local c.

A proposed application of IWT's EM density–time-rate relationship. A spherical Halbach array creates a region of locally elevated EM density at its center, where IWT predicts local c and all atomic oscillation rates would be increased. The effect is the inverse of gravitational time dilation: a region of higher-than-ambient EM density would run time faster.

A proposed mechanical system using superfluid helium as the working fluid in a gear-like torque transmission. In IWT, superfluid flow is a macroscopic coherent EM condensate state. The absence of viscosity is the absence of EM dissipation. The gear geometry forces the superfluid into toroidal circulation — the same topology as the electron — with quantized angular momentum transfer.

A proposed plasma containment geometry using IWT's toroidal medium flow as a design principle. Rather than fighting plasma instabilities with external magnetic fields, this concept uses the self-organizing toroidal topology of the EM medium to maintain plasma confinement — the same mechanism by which the atom self-confines its electron.
